About Airtime Acrobatics

Airtime Acrobatics is offering a 3-week long acrobatics program in October in Mannheim Germany.

We provide a circus school training structure which contains a mix of high-intensity, technical classes alongside creative and fun classes – to give everyone the chance to both work hard on their technique and discover their own style in the world of acrobatics. There is always space for free training with some teachers to help you individually.

Every day has multiple classes for different levels and interests which will orientate to the wishes of the participants. Every week contains around 37 hours of standing acrobatics, Icarian games, tumbling, handstands, strength and flexibility classes.

People talk a lot about safety and spotting … We will practice !!! There will be regular high level spotting – training and specific sessions, where you practice to train in a ‘high stakes ’ environment with the full focus of everyone.

The program is designed to help you in your process, no matter how long you are staying. Of course you will get the most out of it, if you stay for all four weeks. But we know this is not possible for everyone, so we designed the program so that there are progressions during a week and even greater progression during the whole program!

Tracks Overview

We offer multiple disciplines/tracks per week.
Each track is full time  (you can’t switch between the tracks in a week) and follows the same daily schedule.

Dance Acro

with: Kat & Jared

Pre-Requisites: sign up only in duos, High bird, 2-high, 30sec spotted handstand (base & flyer)

you will learn moves, quality of movement and concrete tools and pieces of choreography to combine your big h2h and partner acrobatics tricks into a flow and style that both looks and feels good for you and your partner.

We will get creative with your technical skills and pull from a lot of different movement disciplines (such as floor acrobatics, contemporary dance and partnering, floor work, partner dances like lindy hop and of course contemporary and traditional circus in all its diversity) to gain a wide range of beautiful transitional/moving partner acrobatics material.

Aimed for both people who are looking to create material for performances but also for the ones who want to just learn more cool moves and to have fun and find softness and variation in your technical h2h practice.

We will teach you parts of our own personal choreographies and acro dance style as well as give you tools and a structured approach to creating similar movement choreography from your own vocabulary of movement and skills.

Creation

with Kat & Jared

Pre-Requisites: you need have at least an idea and some material for an act or a show deadline and you need to send a short 1-2min video of your training or work in progress with your partner or trio to join.

we will teach you how to create a professional level contemporary circus act or show. Through a series of workshops we share techniques and processes that we consider most effective and useful when creating performances. If you already have an act you are working on or you have interest in creating one, this is the track for you.

You will work on your own act/performance with professional coaches and circus artists specialised in a huge range of partner acrobatics performance styles and creation tools. We will help you with both the acrobatic/technical and the creative side to make your existing act better or to create a new piece from an existing idea (or for an approaching deadline)! This week is not just about the h2h but mixing it with theatre/dance/storytelling. We will learn about how to hook your audience, to establish your theme, and to still be relatable even when we are doing amazing tricks and skills. You will learn how to better analyse and direct your own work. We will experiment with dramaturgic techniques and tasks as well as concrete steps and principals for creating interesting content / developing your existing show material further.

This track is perfect if you can’t hire a full-time director or go to a circus school for years but you want to start or already are performing.
